My New Year Blessing

Around the turn of the calendar year I write blessings for myself and a few close friends. I use a handful of different tools to guide the unique crafting for each person.

These blessings are prayers, they are spells. They are written to express intentions for the year and request the support needed to see the journey through.

Blessings like this are beautiful accompaniments to the start of any cycle- the calendar year, a season, a menstrual bleed, relationship transitions, etc. May this glimpse into my grimoire offer you ideas for an alternative way to set your resolutions at the new year or the turn of any page in your story.

New Year Blessing 1-1-22

To the Divine, the angels, the spirits of this land, all my guardians and guides,

Thank you for your unwavering support and love through the past year. The ordeal pierced me to the core, and allowed me to see the Divine light of you all within me.

In this new year and this new cycle, may I continue to see the way challenges strengthen my light. May I believe with absolute faith, and use that trust to bring my dreams into creation.

May I wipe the slates clean and come into this year purely as myself. May I be present and attentive in my relationships through any quarrels or disputes. May I be aware of intense emotions and stay curious about their roots. May I feel ease and security in my finances and work.

In this coming year, please guide me in the ways to share the wisdom I’ve gained in ways that will encourage others to live their own truth.

Please guide me towards the path that will cross with the souls I am meant to know in this life. Grant me the presence and openness to recognize and join those communities.

This year, please help me build trust in my own wild, primal, creative power. May I stay present through the journey, honor the natural pace and flow of my life, and break free from the domestication that doesn’t serve me.

I surrender to your wisdom and guidance. Thank you, from every part of my body, mind, and soul.

And so it is. Blessed be! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
